Hair

DId You Know: The strength of healthy hair is due to the construction of the hair fiber and the accumulation of keratin in the cortex. A dry, healthy hair can stretch up to 20 percent of its length. When the hair is wet, this increases to 50 percent. A single strand of healthy hair can hold about 100 grams (approximately 3 ounces). An entire head of hair can hold up 12 tons of weight.
