Osteoarthritis of the Hip

Osteoarthritis of the Hip

Like other joints that carry your weight, your hips may be at risk for "wear and tear" arthritis (osteoarthritis), the most common form of the disease. The smooth and glistening covering (articular cartilage) on the ends of your bones that helps your hip joint glide may wear thin.

Cause

About 10 million Americans reported having been diagnosed with osteoarthritis.

You are more likely to get it if you have a family history of the disease.

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

[RMT's are great at getting results with this issue]

The thoracic outlet is the space between your collarbone (clavicle) and your first rib. This narrow passageway is crowded with blood vessels, muscles, and nerves. If the shoulder muscles in your chest are not strong enough to hold the collarbone in place, it can slip down and forward, putting pressure on the nerves and blood vessels that lie under it. This causes a variety of symptoms which together are known as thoracic outlet syndrome.

Nervous System Remembers Pain

Below is an interesting article on research of chronic pain. Whether they will succeed to find a drug that eliminates pain or not is not that important. It is great to see that the science world is realizing that remembered pain or chronic pain exists and is a problem that can start with a painful stimulus lasting for just a short period of time. Maybe in the future they will research different emotions, not just pain, and their links and effects on the body. Read the different articles for yourself. There is one in an attachment at the bottom of the blog.

First Day of Spring 2013 : The Vernal Equinox

Spring begins with the vernal equinox at 7:02 A.M. (EDT) on March 20, 2013 in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Vernal Equinox

Ah, spring! This season brings increasing daylight, warming temperatures, and the rebirth of flora and fauna.

The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning “equal night.” Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere and the Sunrises and sets due east and west.
